What would you do to deal with global "Globalization" in 10 or 20 more years?

According to Wikipedia, the definition of globalization is the process of interaction and integration between people, companies, and governments worldwide. Globalization happens due to the vast advances of technology. Advanced technology has changed the way we purchase products , the way we live , the way we communicate , the way we travel , the way we learn and so many changes have been brought about by these continuous technological advancements. Technology has made it easy for us to communicate with people that live half around the world from us.

To prepare ourselves for globalization, there are many ways to do it. The first method is by increase your knowledge, learn a new language, following developments in the world by reading a lot, and doing a lot of research. Those are the ways we can improve ourselves from the outside sources . The second method is where we must make changes from within ourselves, such as a be more open minded, embrace diversity,  thinking outside the box, be willing to try something new, have good social skills, and maintaining a broad connection with friends and colleagues.

We can increase our knowledge by getting an education. As we about to graduate from high school, there is a very important decision that we must make. We must choose wisely our major in college. What we choose will effect our future. We have to know our interest and passion, so we can consider what major is suitable for ourselves. Besides the major that we have to choose, we also have to take consideration about the University that we pick. A good university will open a lot of opportunities for our future. For examples such as the opportunity to meet with friends who have the same vision and mission with us, good educational facilities, and the collaboration between the university with large and established companies both locally and abroad. With these collaboration will open opportunities for internship abroad, so we can experienced working in a different country, and different culture.

Learning other language also can improve our knowledge. It will be a big advantage if we can understand other language. When you learn a language you also learn the culture. Being able to speak two languages means you are able to speak to people in a different culture. This will increase your job opportunities, broaden your perspective of the world, and you gain access to a larger world.

We can learn from anything and everything from anywhere and everywhere in the world. So the whole world can teach us a lot of lessons. We have to embrace that, so we can have a global mindset. By combining academic education with our experiences and the diversity in our surrounding can improve our way of thinking.

By doing a lot of reading through books, newspapers and doing research through the internet, we can follow the latest development around the world. The most common way to keep up with the latest development in the world is through the newspaper, but to elaborate more on a topic we can do more research through the internet. The advantages of internet research are access to a new and credible sources of information, access to enormous amount of information, and a quick and efficient way to get plenty of information from different sources.

We also have to start improving ourselves so we can be more adaptable to globalization. Open minded is the key of globalization. Keeping an open mind means that you are open to everyone and everything that comes your way, allowing yourself to embrace different possibilities, cultures, ways of life, and interests. It gives us the opportunities to discover new ideas, and also to grow up and improve ourselves. Don’t limit yourself by only see things black and white.

Social skills are the ways in which we interact with others, both verbally and non-verbally. Verbally is the way we talk to other people and the words we use when we communicate. Non verbally is  through gestures, facial expressions and body language . If we have good social skills then this can help us become confident. Confident people are easy to get along with and most likely to succeed in their life.

To enhance our social skills, we can train ourselves to be more cooperative, patient, participate, accepting differences, being polite and courteous, using good manners, respecting other people, and always have a positive attitude and way of thinking. Since globalization is a process of interaction with other people, with well developed social skill, we can have a better communication and be able to convey our thoughts and ideas clearly. We can also have more and better relationship with other people.

Having a good social skill usually means we have a strong interpersonal relationship. This is an advantage for us because it will help us get a better job, get promoted, make new friends and even advancing in career prospects.

 Learn as much knowledge as you can, because the future is in our hand. We need to prepare ourselves to anticipate the era of globalization. Work hard, be open minded, and never give up to  achieve a brighter future.
