what would I do to deal with global “globalization” in 10 or 20 more years?
Globalization.
When we hear about globalization, we always think about technology revolution.
But, what is the exact meaning about globalization?
“Globalization or globalisation is the process
of interaction and integration between people, companies, and
governments worldwide. Globalization has grown due to advances in transportation and communication technology. With increased global interactions comes
the growth of international trade, ideas, and culture. Globalization is primarily an economic process of
interaction and integration that's associated with social and cultural aspects.
However, conflicts and diplomacy are also large parts of the history of globalization, and modern globalization.” (Wikipedia, 2018).
What can we know about globalization from the meaning above
is globalization is the interactions between one country with another country.
It can be international trade, culture assimilation, culture acculturation,
government cooperation, etc. It has plus and minus too.
Globalization can
enrich country’s culture. For example, in Indonesia we have “bakpao”. “Bakpao”
is a Chinese bun which is filled with pork. But, major of people in Indonesia
are Moslem, and in their Al-Quran, pork is a taboo thing. That’s why, in
Indonesia we can found so many varieties of “Bakpao” with various filling to
adjust with Indonesia culture.
But, Globalization has a minus too. In Indonesia for example,
so many teenagers in Indonesia like to copy western culture, such as drink
alcohol, free sex, say rude thing to older people, prefer to learn western
cultures than to learn their own cultures, and etc. They say, their own culture
is really old, really lame, and they got embarrassed when they do their own
culture such as dancing traditional dances, speak native languages, do the
tradition, etc. And they think that western cultures are really cool, high
class, elite, etc.

So, what would I do to deal with global “globalization” in 10 or 20 more years?
Well, in 10 or 20 years later, my age will be grouped as a
worker age. And to prepare that, I must have some skills, like technology
skills, critical thinking skill, creativity skill, social skill, language
skill, adapt skill and business skill. First, technology skill. Why I choose
technology skill because in 10 or 20 years later, technology will be revolved
and if I can’t follow the revolution, I can’t compete with other people around
the world. And this skill is connected to critical thinking skill. When we want
to learn technology or make something with technology, we must use our critical
and logical thinking to deal with it. Without that, we can’t learn that easily.
Yeah we still can learn that without this skill but it will be harder. The
third is creativity skill. This skill can help us to make some new invention
that can make our life easier. Next is social skill and language skill. These
two skills are connected to each other. All over the world use English as an
international language. But nowadays, Chinese language is becoming a second international
language because of China’s economics that is rapidly increasing. So many
companies all over the world are searching people who can speak Chinese
language fluently. And because of that, we have to learn this language so that
we can communicate with other people in another country and expand our
relation. Adapt skill is really important for us because the world is rapidly
changing. If can’t follow or adapt to it, it would be difficult for us. And the
last skill is business skill. We should have this skill so that we can make
start-up business. It can make us to become rich and maybe invent some new
invention that can make our life easier and practical.

And to improve that skill, technology skills, critical think
skill, creativity skill, social skill, language skill, and business skill, I will
continue my study to overseas in Taiwan. I will take bioinformatics, which is
the combination of information technology, biology, and math. It can improve my
skill at technology skill and critical thinking skill. For creativity skill, I want
to take a course to learn drawing technic in Taiwan. And then in Taiwan, I can
learn to speak Chinese and make a friend with local people in Taiwan. These can
improve my language skill and social skill. For adapt skill I can improve it
with do what people usually do in Taiwan. And last but not least is business
skill. For that skill, I want to work part time in there and observing the
trend that is currently hyping in there. With that, I can make some idea for
start-up business that can easily make much money from it.
Well that is what I’m going to do to deal with global “globalization”
in 10 or 20 years later. Thank you for your visit. J
