What would I do to deal with the global “globalization” , in 10 or 20 more years?

In general, Globalization itself means the way that local or national ways of doing things become global, that is done together by every country around the world. It’s about economics or trade, technology, politics and culture. Globalization implies to encourage the flow of goods, service, capital and labor. It describe the way countries and people around the world interact and integrate.

In economic section, globalization  means the increasing of economic interdependence of national economies across the world throug a fast increase in cross-border movement through trade and exchange goods or resources. 

Most economist agree that globalization provides  benefits around the world by making markets more efficient, increasing competition of each industries, limiting military conflict, and spreading wealth more equally all over the world. Globalization affects nearly every aspect of modern life and continue to grow larger in global economy. These are the advantages of economic globalization existence: It encourage local growth by teaching them how to spend money globally if it is implemented properly. It would create higher levels of mutual trust for each other. the global community which require a global economy (world wide market online). It gives undeveloped countries a chance to join the developed world , and new innovations would create new technologies in some fields.

The disadvantage of economic’s globalization are: Business would be handled only by the influence civil government, increaesd in workers exploitation (the worker in undeveloped nation who make nowhere near a liveable wage), the developed countries might be ignored or left behind, and it would increase the unemployment and poverty in developed countries or nation. Although many trade alliances were established and many industrial nations have emerged as a reponse to this process, but still,  the contribution will make many national economies collapsed. The appearance of “electronic trade” through Internet can also be a negative aspect of globalization, because piracy can also affect this process.

In Political section, globalization refers to an amount of political cooperation that exists between different countries. The influence of nation states has reduced in many areas as more and  more countries organize themselve into trade alliances. For example, the influence of Western democracies on developing countries is strong. The advantages of political globalization are, it cooperate to world peace (reducing the risks of invasion),  smaller countries can work together (to gain more influence internationally), and developed nation could get an easy access to international aid or financial support. As for the disadvantage, there are: the nation state’s nature will change slowly (reduce the authority of a state that is noxious for local nationalim), some governor might slow down or postpone their decisions (try not to solve the problem they faced), and coordination of countries are difficult and expensive. Moreover, the functioning of International or supranational organizations is often not fair (democratic).

In Culture section, globalization refer to the transmission of idea, meaning and values around the world in a way to extend and strengthen social relationship . It’s shown by the western culture who has spread their culture to all part of the world through cinema, television, internet, newpaper and magazines. Western media, food, sports, arts and leisure can also be seen all over the world. People around the world have accesses to different cultures due to improved communication and technologies. Technology is also an impact that create a bridge that diffused the globalization in culture. Because, it could bring globalization, urbanization and migration, that has affected until today.

Overall, those are what I get generally from observing about globalization through many informations. After all those informations, I realized that I had to do something. Because despite the fact that globalization has more effects on young people’s daily lives, many people (especially youngster) still lack information about understanding the real effect of globalization. We all know that today, be it good or bad, globalization is an unavoidable thing. Most of people likely to slow the process in dealing with globalization’s problem head-on, not solving it. As technology for moving goods, people and information still improves, it is certainly that globalization will keep on going.

From my perpective, it seem that a bigger nation holds the strength to control every part of the world. Because the developed countries depend on them and their policy to developed into a better nation. So, I imagine myself in 10 or 20 more years. What should I do? My ideal  is to become an architecture consultant. But, what should I do to resolve the globalization? Could Architects be a  help  to strengthen and develop many things in my home country, or It could be a hopeless ideal in the future?

Here is my answer. We all know that globalization has allowed architect to work outside their own regions and cultures. They could be a help in economic, political or even culture section. Architect do have professional choices. They can always investigate a potential client and project or either accept the commision or turn it down. There could be a non-profit jobs that focused on Human Rights that could be helpful on reliable reports on the civil status and handling the political corruption in many countries. In that way, they could help organizing the income and expenses that a nation could handle, help to inspect many industries political problems and also manifesting the culture of my homeland through my design and my creation.
